Recently I spent a week in Turks….oh that beautiful water!  I just couldn’t get enough of it.  This piece and a few others are influenced by my memories of that week.  It’s not my intention to create copies of what nature has already made, but to portray the impression it leaves on me.

24″ x 36″ Acrylic painting on stretched canvas

As a child I would have a recurring dream.  Just before the dream ended I ’m surrounded by a beautiful soft colorful light.  Then it would change, growing coarser and darker.  Like powder soft sand that gradually becomes sandpaper. It was frightening to me then.  Now I realize I was just aware of the process of waking up in the physical, after a night of playing in the higher planes.  As I painted this piece I realized I was recreating the feeling of my long ago dream.
